Beetle63's Home Audio/Video

This page is where I share my passion for electronics and audio / video equipment. Here you can read about the transformation of my own home audio from my first introduction to recorded music to my current sound system, and what I learned along the way. I also share my experience with various brand names - the ones I canned, the ones I hold on to, and why. I also share some humor, a list of my favorite songs, links to electronics retailers and more.

HT1

My First Home Theater (1975-1989)

My first audio/video system was made of pieces my dad had purchased while in Japan during the VietNam war, and components I bought while in high school.

HT2

My Second Home Theater (1989-1998)

Built with the latest audio and video technology of the day - a Video Home System (VHS) video cassette recorder, color television monitor and a DVD player!

HT3

My Third Home Theater (1998-2002)

My introduction to the world of Dolby Digital, Digital Theater Surround (DTS), high-current components and getting big sound using small speakers.

HT4

My Fourth Home Theater (2002-2005)

My first (and only) "dedicated" media room; its sole function was to house my audio-video entertainment "man-cave"... Well, almost.

HT5

My Fifth Home Theater (2005-2017)

A fully finished basement room dedicated to my favorite forms of entertainment; pinball, toy trains, and an audio-video system with an all-new modern look.

HT6

My Sixth Home Theater (2017- )

Housed again in a wall unit, I added a new Audio-Video receiver, flat-screen television, and Blu-Ray player join the line-up.
